Scottish Evening - 15th Feb 2008

On Friday the 15th February we held a Scottish Evening in Clybebank Town Hall.

After the usual hectic preparations in the weeks beforehand we spent most of the early part of the day at the hall setting up all the ‘bits and bobs’.

The tables were arranged and decorated by Susan Lamond who assures us that she doesn’t want to see another piece of tartan ribbon again!!  It was well worth the effort she put in as she did a great job.

The excellent band ‘Hell for Leather’ was booked by Annie Knox of Two Fold Publishing who also arranged for Councillor Jim Finn to present a beautiful bunch of flowers to Jackie at the end of the evening.  Nice one Annie!  Two of our very supportive patrons Bobby Russell and Simon Leslie also attended on the night.

The raffle was run by Susan and ‘oor Trace’ and was a great success with Bobby presenting the prizes. The generosity of people who donated prizes (see list below) and that of those who bought tickets was greatly appreciated.

After some ‘sustenance’ from the buffet and a fair bit o’ jiggin, Simon and Derek presented us with a cheque from Follow Follow for £200.  George Smith also gave us a personal donation of £100 - our old friends George, John and the gang from the Prince Henry Supporters Club travelled through from Whitburn.

It was great to see some familiar faces and old friends and it was great to meet some new ones.  Nights like these are only ‘successful’ when those who attend enjoy themselves and hopefully everyone did as much as we did.

From all of us at The Davie Cooper Centre:

We thank you all.
